Eating Honey The Right Way

The Best Way to Eat Honey

While honey can be consumed at just about any time of day, it is best to consume in the morning when the body needs an energy boost. The recommended daily consumption dosage of honey is listed at 50-100 grams.

Preparing Honey

While there are many ways to prepare and consume honey, including consuming it on its own, there are some ways that are considered wrong. Adding honey in hot water or any other hot beverage destroys the enzymes in it, reducing its overall health-giving benefits. In addition to this, it must not be paired with foods that are rich in vitamin C and D because the mineral content of honey may damage these vitamins, effectively negating any potential health benefits. Honey must not be mixed with bean curd as well, as the combination of these two can cause indigestion and nutrient negation.

Honey Is Not Recommended For Infants

Babies are not known for their immunity, as their immune systems are still developing. Which is why honey is not recommended for infants since it might contain bacteria and toxins that may cause botulism. These toxins can be acquired during the process of brewing, storage and transportation. If they make their way into a child’s body, they can cause a devastating form of food poisoning, which could lead to brain impairment and even death.
